Background Info

I graduated from Indiana University with Bachelors in Applied Health Science in 2007. I worked in social services for about seven years but decided that I want to impact lives through technology. I graduated from DePaul University with a Masters in Human Computer Interaction in June of 2016. Since then, I’ve gained a lot of experience and knowledge by working with other researchers and designers that I find brilliant, creative and passionate about their careers.

Hobbies

Outside of research, I love to play video games: Assassin's Creed and the Mass Effect Trilogy are a couple of my favorites! I also love being creative in many ways. Some are through makeup artistry and nail polish artistry. Click the corresponding buttons below to see check out a few of my favorite designs!

Additionally, COVID-19 has brought out my horticultural side! This past summer, my family started our first vegetable garden! Experts say that if you’re a first time gardener to start light and only do a few veggies. However, I’m very tenacious, strong-willed and my motto is “Go Big or Go Home!”. So, this resulted in having a lot of various fruits and vegetables: cucumbers, tomatoes, bell peppers, sweet peppers, strawberries, watermelons, and more. My overzealousness resulted in some vegetables getting smothered or killed, but that’s okay… I’ll just get more garden beds next year.

As winter nears, my green thumb passion has moved toward indoor plants. Some of my favorite plants are calatheas aka prayer plants (I love that their leaves move up and down throughout the day. I just find that so cool and fascinating!), monstera deliciosa (one of these is trying to over an entire room!), any and all hoya varieties, and of course pothos (aka devil’s ivy) and philodendrons.
